  • BBO Needs its annual funding...

All as we moved away from Dreamhost, our credit with them was at $0 (which is good because we wouldnt have gotten a refund ). At this time, we are running on Amazon's AWS service, and things are going very smoothly. I was able to cut our costs significantly so this year when I ask for money - I know it's going to go just as far, and hopefully further.

I also intend on moving us away from VBulletin this year. We have succumbed to the fact that Vbulletin 5 was a bomb, and I have to cut my losses on it. I think we are going to go with the Xenforo software, with the Article Management System add-on. I think this will give BBO a lot more exposure with the articles being available again. We have a lot of good ones in the database, but because of the way this software currently works, they aren't in a presentable fashion.

So, PLEASE donate. I continue to bounce back and forth between deciding on ads, selling the forum itself, and asking for donations. As long as things continue to stay afloat, I'm fine investing my time. What I don't have at the moment, is the cash.

Since we aren't at dreamhost anymore, we dont have the donate link at the bottom. There are banners in yellow at the top of every page that direct you to: https://www.beginnerbikers.org/payments.php

This system is kind of odd, but it makes sense if you think about it. Vbulletin comes with a subscription service built in, so that's why it says 1 Day on all the donation links. Basically if we had a board that took money monthly, that would keep your account active for the duration set. Anyhow, go there to make a donation. Pro Tip: If you can donate via paypal directly via FRIENDS AND FAMILY, it negates the paypal fees, and doesnt cost us the usual 3-5%...so if you can do that, the email address is admin@beginnerbikers.org

At this time I am not maintaining a PO box. If you have that stored from years past, discard it, and DO NOT SEND CHECKS there. I wont get them.

Again thanks for anything you can give - it's appreciated and I look forward to making some big strides in 2017 with the site.

I donated using the link in your post. The banner at the top did not take me anywhere and I could not find a link at the bottom of the page. I was going to donate a few months ago, but I could not find the link.

          Hi, and Done!
FYI, it used my geraldinecenci@ email instead of my chench53@ email, I can never figure out how to change that.
Anyway, that is me in case there's no other identification.
