I can't believe this thing is going on 16 years! Wow!

So what are you waiting for, book a room?!

Don't think I'll be moving it that far West. It makes it hard for me to make pick hotels, restaurants and make trial runs. Wish you guys could make it out this way someday.

It is a bit far for me as well. 942 miles by back roads according to Google Maps. Probably a three or four day ride for me.

But I am meeting my brother to play disc golf in Kentucky in early August. Date TBD. He is driving down from Michigan. Perhaps I could fly to Ohio, rent a bike. Go ride with you guys and then connect with my brother.

          Crazy idea?

Sure would like to see a "Bug Bash" West Coast one year, then East Coast, the next. Alternating East/West coasts.

Or, East/central/West alternating every 3 years...The USA is just too vast to expect people to ride for weeks, just to ride a couple days and see people that have pretty much moved on.

Then again, with so many other avenue's to consume our time, this may be a dying forum. (That would be a bummer, but look at it honestly.)

Going along with your same notion of it being too much to expect west coasters to attend an east coast Bug Bash, I think expecting the Bug Bash originators (east coasters) to organize a west coast bug bash is unrealistic.

Get your own event going and post it up!

I've conceded that as well...I really should have been more aggressive in having the facebook group shut down years ago, but I didn't think it would have much impact. I took on another forum that might have been on the brink of dying. They started a FB group too, but once they found out that I was taking over the forum as it stood, instead of it being shut down entirely - the FB group was shut down. There's way more activity over there, for a much more niche motorcycling topic.

Crankshaft and I tested the route and lunch stop Saturday. He had the brisket sammich and I had the Boondocker, a fancy pulled pork sammich. They were good.

The ride was mostly great. One pita from a construction detour that Cranky is gonna route around and another following an Escalade doing 30 in 55 zone. Road too twisty to pull a double yellow pass.

The breakfast lounge at the hotel is really nice.
