"Which is a bit ironic. Many people mount their iPhones on their motorcycles so they can use the smartphones safely while riding."
Ironic indeed, "using a smartphone safely while riding." Let me guess: the guy who penned this article has a car with automatic parallel park, collision avoidance, and lane correcting features so he can spend more time dilly-dickering with his phone while "driving"?Sent from your mom's phone

The handlebar thing is a problem for any device with optical image stabilization. I experienced it long before Apple started using that tech in their devices.
Having a device with audio playback, phone and guidance via voice control has greatly aided my long distance riding. I imagine it does the same for commuters/non-cage owners. Oddly, the best experience I had with that was using Nokia/Windows phones. I have finally resigned myself to pay too much for an old iPhone (to get one without OIS/more private than Google) to use on the bike and for gig apps in the cage. We'll see if it works better with voice.
Given the nature of this site, it makes to encourage the new riders to practice patience, caution, better-judgement when farkling. Nevertheless, it is possible use one's device, whether walking/driving/riding/flying/skating, without dickering one's dilly.
