  • Look what our son saw the other day

These "folks" were riding on the busy loop around Nacogdoches and Andrew (our son) being the photographer that he is snapped this pic.

    Stupidity at it's finest.

Looks like she was pissed he got a pic of them. No way in HELL I'd let my kid ride like that.

Oh my God. Isn't that illegal?

It would be illegal in any state that requires the passenger to have their feet on the passenger foot pegs, but, we're talking TEXAS here, after all!

Yeah, an adult sized helmet being held on by the mom. Tragedy waiting to happen.

Well it's deep EAST Texas (almost into Louisianna)....it's a whole different world down there.

Makes me mad just looking at the picture....stupid, stupid people.

                Here's the law:

From the Texas Dept. of Public Saftey.
                12. What are the laws regarding motorcycle passengers?
Prior to September 1, 2009 there was no minimum age, height or weight requirement. HB4449 passed in the 81st Legislative Session and it requires a passenger be at least five years old.

In China flat seats rule because they allow riders to slide back and forward, accommodating more seating positions.

I hope they were not going fast. I personally would not ride like this with a kid so small, but that's me.

Yep, riding without a helmet is really risky!

Help me out here. Why is this so stupid?
Is it the age of the kid?
                          Is it the riding position?
That kids feet wouldn't reach the pegs even if he was on the passenger seat.

You kidding right at lest I hope so.

My question is how do the parents think they can get around the child safety restraint laws?

The fact they don't make child safety seat for MCs won't do them any good.

LEOs would have a hay day with this as would a judge.

No really. Why is this such a bad thing?
Everybody is shocked and awed, but no-one has provided any reason why this is so bad.
