Thread: Valve clearance DRZ and KLX

    The hardest part will probably be getting the valve cover removed. The key things to find out are the acceptable clearance range and whether the valves are to be checked with the piston at top-dead-center or with the lobes oriented so that the point of the cam lobe is pointed away from the valve.

    I am interested in learning more about how the bikes work. It would be nice to be able to check myself and bring in the pro if adjustment is required.

    I would imagine that the DRZ is not hugely different from the DR200 I used to have. If so it is not difficult to check the clearances. If you can change the oil, you can do this.
