    Crazy people
... from last weekend day 2 ATA Tweed trial:

They must not have got the memo that you can't ride on rock, logs and deep mud covered with ice and sleet snow, covered with more ice in a freezing rain storm

Big heat up this weekend though. 30F rise from yesterday. Maybe more in the desert.

I'm in Southern California. Rode yesterday in 110 degree (f) heat for about 10 miles. Beginner biker? The faster I went the hotter I got. LOL. Lesson learned.

Iím certain Iíve never experienced hotter weather than I did yesterday. Admittedly itís a cheap Home Depot garden thermometer (and not to be too highly trusted) but I got a reading in my back yard in Studio City of 123 degrees at 2:00pm. There were 4 Los Angeles burgs that measured the highest temperature ever recorded. I got out about 10:30am and it was already pushing 100. I got about a 25 mile run up over Mulholland but at my age I thought I might be pushing my safety margins a bit so I had to cut it short. Didnít even bother today.

I certainly hope this isnít a harbinger of whatís in store in September. Plus I guess fire season is now firm ďyear roundĒ

Is really nice early in the early morning,
think I'm going to do some morning rides before breakfast for a while

... did you read about William Dunlop yet very sad news.

    Yes, yes i did

I'm not yet sure how I feel about it. There is no family (blood line) or true to the core racers left on the planet that has screamed louder than the Dunlops. They live, torpedos be damed I'm goin' for it at all costs, whatever I may leave behind....and so be it.. That's what they do. They are the last remaining gladiators on the planet. They are brilliant in a sport which does NOT recognize the slightest of a mistake. Ever. William seemed to be a tad more jovial which makes it all the more difficult.

Not sure how to reconcile it yet

I've heard that "studs" on tires work better than not, when it comes to wet/slimey roots.

Now, to find some wet roots. Or, wet ground. Oh well, go kick up some dust!
