    HD Recall

    http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/motor...D=ansmsnnews11

Harley-Davidson is recalling about 46,000 motorcycles in the U.S. because an oil line can come loose, spewing oil into the path of the rear tire.

The recall covers certain 2017 Electra Glide, Road King, Street Glide and Road Glide models built from July 2, 2016 through May 9, 2017.

Harley says a clamp on an engine oil cooler line may not have been installed correctly. The company says it has nine reports of oil lines coming off. The problem caused two crashes and one minor injury.

Dealers will inspect the clamps and fix them free of charge. The recall is expected to start on Tuesday.

While this is a serious story, I'm just patiently awaiting the inevitable wise crack...c'mon, someone out there is just itching to say it.

It is actually only on the James Bond edition bikes. It is designed to spew oil in the path of pursuing vehicles. They just mistakenly positioned the oil jets in front of the rear tire rather than behind the rear tire. Fortunately all the other James Bond edition feature; ejecting pillon, front and rear machine guns, etc. are all functioning properly.

Naturally, the James Bond edition is not technically street legal so the recall had to be disguised as a faulty clamp.

I have looked into retrofitting my 1992 with the James Bond edition, but as with many EVO era Harley's, they are not supporting this upgrade for those bikes.

    Nope, that wasn't it.

I was actually expecting something along the lines of "Harley's leaking oil...exactly what makes this newsworthy?"
