Supposedly chassis issues. From what I've read/heard, Rossi preferred the 2016 chassis during pre-season testing. Viņales preferred the 2017. Team management decision early on in the season was that both riders wold use 2017 since Viņales was doing great out the gate on the 2017. Will be interesting to see if Tech 3 sticks with 2016 that they used this season or if they move on to 2017 chassis.

So much to look forward to next year. Zarco riding a "B" bike in factory rider style. Clearly the rookie of the year. Dovi coming back should be loaded with confidence. Lorenzo seems to have figured out the Ducati. Rins, another rookie, looked very very impressive on the Suzuki now that he is well. Rossi ... you just can't count him done.

And there are question marks. Vinales seemed so dominant the first races .. what happened?

I look forward to watching Morbidelli make the transition to MotoGP.

Zarco was impressive this year. Looking forward to see him do well in 2018.

Morbidelli is going to be interesting. He didn't come to Moto2 from Moto3, but rather the EU Superstock for several years with a Moto2 wildcard race in 2013 before coming into Moto2 full time in 2014.

One last recognition of this year's racers. Joan Mir. The Spaniard is arguably the most impressive 3rd class (Moto3) rider since ... Valentino Rossi. Masterful race craft in a very difficult class to win consistently. Really looking forward to Moto2 next year with lots of good riders in a highly competitive class ...
The best thing you can buy for your motorcycle is gas.
