Well it's almost anticlimactic to have another podium sweep ... I'm almost rootin for Sammy Halbert on his FZ to get in there again ... almost.

They better be or they're gonna get left behind hard and fast. It doesn't look like Indian's going to be resting on their laurels, as the saying goes, anytime soon.

Well, it finally happened: a Ninja 600 bumped the Scout into 2nd place last weekend. It only took 9 events for somebody else to win a race ... lol

And we're back to business as usual with the Indians taking 1st and 3rd. On a high note for Harley, Halbert grabbed a 2nd place finish for his 2nd podium trip of the season. Mees and Smith are sittin' pretty at 202 and 194 points respectively. Baker, in 3rd, is only 4 points up from Sammy Halbert at 149, so he better get himself a win or two under his belt and give himself a margin or they may not get a 1/2/3 season points finale come October. That'd be the capper of em all for the new guys in town to pull off a sweep in the points as well as several on the tracks. heh heh heh

Uh oh! A Harley finally won a race ... not a points race, but a win nonetheless, with Indians pulling 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the X-Games.

Way to go Sammy Halbert! Congrats on the win!

So, there was an AMA flat track race over the weekend.

Do I really need to even say it?

    Okay, I'll compromise. A non-Indian bike took 2nd place.

Man! Those poor Indian flat trackers! A couple of weeks ago they failed, for the 3rd time out of the 15 races run so far, to score a victory.

    Those poor bastages!

They got their 6th podium sweep last weekend though, so I guess that makes up for a loss.

Here's how the points are falling into place for the top 5 riders as they head into the 3 race home stretch:

1st Place - Jared Mees - Indian FTR750 - 317 points - Clinched Manufacturer's Championship trophy a couple weeks ago. No other brand rider can possibly overtake Mr. Mees in points. Indian's already got that part sewn up.

2nd place - Bryan Smith - Indian FTR750 - 271 points - Only one non-Indian rider has a remote chance of catching Mr. Smith. While he doesn't have the 2nd place slot "sewn up" there is very little possibility of anyone taking it from him with only 3 races left.

3rd place - Brad Baker - Indian FTR750 - 227 points - Really the only Indian rider in real jeopardy of being shunted out of his current position in the points race. Still. Only 17 points ahead of 4th place rider Sammy Halbert. Mr. Baker could really use a win or two to finish off the season and fend off the FZ-07 breathing down his neck.

4th place - Sammy Halbert - Yamaha FZ-07 (sometimes a Harley XR750) - 210 points - The only non-Indian rider with any kind of real shot at snagging a top 3 finish on the season.

5th place - Briar Bauman - Kawasaki Ninja 650 - 179 points - A very remote outside shot at 3rd - if Mr. Baker fails to score any points at all in the last 3 races and Mr. Bauman wins out, it could happen.

Well, there ya go! 3 more events, and if all goes well, an Indian Motorcycle season sweep to go with their (so far) 6 podium sweeps this year.

Not bad for the "new guys" on the track. I'd go so far as to call it "total domination" but I'll hold off for another race or three to make that pronouncement.

Well, surprise! Surprise! Jared Mees has the AFT Twins champeenship in the bag with two races left.

The only reason left to watch - other than it's fun - is to see if Brad can stay ahead of Sammy for an Indian series sweep.

It's gonna happen. I can feel it!
