I sure miss the "Del Mar Mile."

Hope they bring it back soon.

I just hope they bring on-board any venue that's somewhat less than 400 miles from my door. My choices this year were Phoenix, Oklahoma City, or Sturgis during the rally when I never go to Sturgis.

Uh oh! It looks like there's going to be a bit more competition this weekend down in Texas. The first non-factory-sponsored Indian FTR750 will be taking to the track, ridden by Johnny Lewis. Apparently they want to find out if the Wrecking Crew's success this year is due to the excellent bikes, the excellent crews, or the excellent riders. I'm thinkin' it's a combo of all of 'em, but what do I know?

Too bad there aren't 4 podium spots ...

    Harley's response to all this?

    "Let's kill the Dyna line...."

    So, they did.

Yeah, killin the Dyna was kinda ... dumb.

On the other hand, maybe it's working because a Harley got the win in Texas. Guest rider Johnny Lewis didn't do too bad for himself, pullin' in a #3 and a podium spot. With Mees grabbing 2nd and Smith 4th, the only one missing was Baker, who sat Saturday's heats out due to injury. He still ended up 20 points ahead of Sammy in the champeenship deal, so it's still all Indian at the top. His replacement rider, Larry Pegram, pulled a 10th place, so there were still 4 Indians in the top 10.

They're going to be close to us on Oct. 7th. We might have to go as I've never been to a "half mile" AMA event.

Stopped by Cyclegear (a major sponsor) and no one had ever heard of the racing format...
