Looks like Honda is capitalizing on the resurgence of the Bobber look to me, & I bet the most popular colour choice will be black and the most popular modification will be to chop or completely remove the fenders

oops, too late to predict it, it's already started:

That's not a bobber, that's a dismantled/sawzalled not-bobber. Fortunately the higher price tag may serve to keep the imaginatively impaired away from the machines. Suffice it to say it will be a while before these things are carrying three figure price tags where those locusts hunt for prey.

Not sure there is a correlation between resources and imagination. I have known quite a few people with a lot more resources than imagination.

Perhaps even an inverse relationship. It seems a lack of resources is often the mother of invention.

While a lack of resources is indeed an incentive for invention, it still requires imagination. For the not-bobber crowd that firmly believes dismantling/sawzalling/rattle-canning is customizing (as opposed to the reality where such modifications are merely procedures utilized toward customizing), there is no such thing as imagination. In other words, you don't sawzall a muffler off and call it customizing, you sawzall the muffler off as a step towards replacing it with a different muffler.

Around here, the "bobber" bunch just cuts off mufflers and rides making as much racket as possible.

Sadly that's the modern misinterpretation of the word everywhere. I don't believe in coincidence...public education has taken a sharp decline since the term was first coined.

In all honesty, had they dubbed these things "Magnas" it would have made more sense. After all the Magna was a sport bike based cruiser, which is exactly what both of the Not-Rebels are (CBR300 & CB500 respectively), and the Magna had more than one engine configuration during its hey-day.

Just when I thought they couldn't look worse, someone found a way:

Amazing the difference a measly 24cc can make. Especially if there's a bump in compression and carb work.
