Sadly it looks far more CB/CBR-ish than Rebel...

That is sharp! Much better looking (to me) than Yamaha's Bolt.

Looks pretty good to me. A 500cc rebel? I'm there dude.

CBX would have been a better tagline than calling it something it is not. Let's face it, these bikes are little more than CBR300 & CB500 variants. It's like calling the modern VW Beetle a Bug...it's just a Golf with new bodywork and couldn't possibly be any further from the original vehicle if they tried.

Dang SS, tell us how you really feel.

I actually think it looks okay. Does it look like the old Rebel's?...no. Will it sell good?... probably. Kinda reminds me of the new Vulcan 650, and I think that bike is sharp as hell. Not worth the price, but then again what is now days.

I like "CB300C" and "CB500C" for cruiser. Probably a good bike, but not a Rebel. Just like the Volvos they make now are more like Toyotas than Volvos. And Saab died because they were no longer Saabs.

Modern business - don't worry about whether your product is any good, just leverage a successful brand.

    CBX was already taken.

I dunno, Rebel 500 sounds like a good name for me. After all, you have Ninja 250, Ninja 600 and Sportster 88 and Sportster 1200.

I realize CBX had already been taken, then again so has the CB prefix...I merely suggested that as a throwback to the Rebel's CMX prefix when it graduated from the CM185/200 TwinStar and CM250 customs. Call it whatever you want, but it's still not a Rebel. Honestly though it's really not a surprise, after all we're talking about the same company that brought us the not-Valkyrie.

Which, at least like their originals, was sporting some color and some chrome.

I always wanted one of those Honda Rune's, and most people thought they were ugly.
