Thread: The Picture Game.

  1. #1

    The Picture Game.

I've been playing this on another forum and thought it might be fun to start one up here. I know ADV has a variation of this going too.

    How the game is played:
The game is played by taking a picture of your bike beside a target object or place. For example the first picture could be your bike beside a McDonalds sign (very easy one). The first person to post the correct picture gets to pick the next target. If you are the person to set the target you aren't eligible to post the first correct target pic. You'll have to wait for the next round.

    Rules:
There aren't many rules although we could say try to keep it clean, or somewhat clean anyway. Also we will need to designate 2-3 active members to act as judges in case of a dispute. For example the target could be a lake and someone may post a picture of a puddle; a judge may have to make a ruling. Oh, and judges can play but not rule on their own pictures.

If you have taken a picture but aren't the first person to post feel free to share your pic anyway. Seeing a variety of pics will make it more fun. Only the first person to post will set the next target though.

    Posts:
To keep the game moving if you post a correct picture you can set the new target in the same post. If there is a challenge to the picture then a judge will make a ruling. If the game stalls because a target is to hard, like The Great Pyramid in Egypt, then a judge will pick a new target to get it going again. Targets should be highlighted in Red Text to make it easier for others to see.

    Current Judges:
    1) I guess me, since it was my idea.
    2) Open
    3) Open

    Sound like fun?

For example, the most recent target was to post a picture of your bike in front of your favorite Mexican restaurant, giving me and a friend an excuse to go have some real tacos for lunch.

So I posted that, and changed the target to a pic of a bike with something the town/city/state/province/etc.. you live in is well-known for.

I've played this on another forum, and I think it is fun. Gives you a reason to go out for a ride (if you need an extra reason)

I've been catching things on my lunchbreak. That way, I ride more and I eat less.

I've seen that thread on one of the VFR forums. It can get downright difficult!

A little easier than the Tag-O-Rama that most sites seem to be doing.

Thanks for the bump Helen. If I get out early enough tomorrow I will get this done!

We've got an old steam engine about 30mi from me, but the weather and timing hasn't been right...

DJ and I were just talking about this. We could park the bikes at a crossing and wait for a train to come, but I honestly have better things to do with my time
