    Thrift store jackpot.

Was at one of the local thrift stores we've been routinely cruising checking for baby clothes, maternity stuff (and the occasional shirt for me...) on Sunday. I had already been shot down on the day's other selections (SWMBO gets final 'will I be seen in public with him wearing this' approval), and was checking out the 'Activewear Pants' section. Between two pairs of sweatpants, I saw an Alpinestars logo poking out.

    Ho-lee-crap.

So I pull out what ends up being a pair of Alpinestars Air-Flo textile overpants. They’re marked as XL on the tag. Crud. Check the tag in the pants themselves… XXL, double-crud. Screw it, I’ve seen A*s pants run small before, I’ll try them on anyway. These ran WAY small, fitting perfectly over a pair of 5.11 cargo pants (that I’d also snagged). The kicker: they were marked at $17.99. A $159.95 pair of armored mesh riding pants, used, with zero wear and tear, for 89% off. Score.

    Great find!

Now that the weather is the suck, might have to scrounge around the Goodwill store. I found a pair of great surplus camos there, much tougher than regular camo cargo pants. If only they have leathers.

A* sizing is weird. Gloves are 2 sizes too small and the boots are at least 1 size too big compared to every other brand I've tried. Great find for sure.
The whir of gear driven cams makes me giddy.
