turn signals are a pain for noob

I am just OCD about this. I am constantly pressing the cancel button.

Same here. I pretty much ruined a pair of gloves once by wearing a hole in the left thumb.

Whenever Lowsider and I are driving together and see a car with a signal blinking mile after mile we always say "Must be a motorcyclist..."

I always have to fight the urge to give them then "your signal is on" sign. They might think I'm calling them a cow (milking?) or something...

I do it like ASP, I make it part of the routine of the first shift coming out of the turn. Clutch in, Shift, Clutch out, Push button.
Lane changes, I just make it the last step of the routine... Signal on, Mirror check, Head Check, Move over, Push button.
Early on it had to be a conscious thing, but eventually it sticks as part of the process and you do it without thinking about it. Well, 99% of the time anyway.

PS... I know it can be a pain. My gauge glances are really quick, so if I do leave it on, given Murphy's law, that glance will occur exactly between the light blinks most of the time.

Yeah it's just a quick glance... Any lights on that shouldn'r be? Speedo about where I expect it? Good! Eyes back up!
I don't have to READ anything. I have an analog speedo, I know Noon is exactly 65mph, 11 O'clock is around 50, 10 O'clock is between 35 and 40, 9 O'clock is about 20. And 2 O'clock is "Holy Crap! Slow it the F*** down!!!"

Yup... I got worse about it on my new bike... I fairly frequently glance at my spedometer to check my speed. On the Ninja, I would always see the turn indicators next to it. On this bike, the signal indicators are a good foot away from the speedometer, and I have to physically tilt my head down to look there, and even then, they wash out pretty easily in the sunlight.

So, yeah, just make a habit of checking. Or buy a Harley.

Was wondering is that a 865 cc two cyclinder? English bike.. what are some pro/cons? always liked the English bike's like

True a few of my older Yamaha bikes had self cancelling, but my Honda does not so it is simply a matter of cancelling. Easy to do when you think if it & I do not have to be looking for some blinking thing in the speedo.

Almost as common as using the clutch lever when shifting the gears.
