    BBO event calendar?

I've been thinking lately,(DH says that can be dangerous ) BBO has become so much more than a "virtual" community. So many of us have met, ridden, and shared "real life" together, and even though there is a "upcoming events" thread, sometimes these opportunities get lost in the daily post count. Perhaps a BBO calendar marking these events - (date, time, contact info) might be a helpful addition to the site?

Or even just on a Gmail calendar, linked to from the site?

We've had one for years. See "Calendar" in the toolbar near the top of the page, it's between Articles and Community.

Once there, there's a button on the right to add an event.

Those of us putting events on or posting them just need to remember to use it!

Yep. I hear rumor of an event sometime in late May. But there's nothing about it on the calendar. So it really must be just a rumor.

Dang, guess I'm just not paying attention... Yes, well... besides birthdays, let's use the calendar, peeps! (oh, and great idea, Tom, linking the relevant event thread!)

That's good to know! But if I might make a weeny little suggestion: put the events in a different color than the birthdays, or make them all caps or something. There are a lot of birthdays, and they drown out the events.
