WOW! Set off the airbags, damn! Glad your sis is okay.

The one I hit was deep enough for my saddlebag support to hit ground, and toss my big butt off of the seat. I was actually really suprised that it didn't take a chunk out of my tire or trash my wheel.

Okay..so it wasn't just one saddlebag/muffler bracket....when I started digging in to it I found that it was both of them...ARRRRRRGH!!!!

Just finished the wrench work and took it for a short ride. Every thing seems back to normal....no other obvious damage. YaY!!!!

You are another one who can do the wrench work!!!

When I went out riding in Manhattan yesterday...the weather was wonderful.... but, the roads there sometimes seemed like a war area ... with post land mine explosion potholes (or just plain crappy roads) everywhere!
Also, the heavy traffic was a clutch control test of "how slow can you go" before you have to put a foot down!

During the Manhattan ride..... I was on a major uptown road (somewhere near the UN)... traffic was crazy... I stalled... I did not realize that when I was trying to do a quick restart, I must have hit/repositioned the "kill" button! So, there I was in major Manhattan traffic.... stuck on an incline (with what I thought was a dead battery)....I pushed the bike to the side (that took a while)... with the usual multitude of car horns blaring around me!

Steve had been ahead of me. He knew I was caught behind a tour bus, and had no way of knowing that I was with a "disabled" bike. I later learned he pulled over to wait for me, and was concerned when I just did not show up! Usually, I just zip around the "obstacles" and meet up with him in seconds. This time I was nowhere to be found! If he tried to go around the block to look for me in that area it might have taken 15-20 minutes! (Thank God for cell phones to play message tag... but if we had bike-to-bike communication, it would have saved some angst!)

I tried to start it again, again, and again... no luck! A good Samaritan offered to help push me up the incline to the corner. Then... I finally noticed that the emergency stop button was not positioned as it should be.

    Soooo.... another lesson learned!
