News: Thief's ride does not end well

    He won't be missed.

    from Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel:

A driver died after he lost control of a motorcycle he just had stolen and crashed into a tree [in a West Palm Beach road median] early Saturday, sheriff's officials said.

The man, 40, who has not been identified, stole a black Suzuki motorcycle left running outside T's Lounge ...about 5:18 a.m., said a sheriff's spokesman. The strip club closes at 5 a.m.

what a shame...hate to hear of a bike getting all busted up like that. Hope the tree's OK....

Of course, leaving your bike running outside a place called T's Lounge at 5 am in south Fl isn't too bright either....

That's not true, he had a family and I am sure someone will miss him. I am also sure that I would love to see the report that the owner has to turn into the insurance company. "uh yes, I did leave my motorcycle running with the keys in it outside the Eager Beaver Strip Club while I was inside at 5am but it isn't my fault that someone stole it!" Get a clue guy, you never leave your bike running while you are inside anyplace unless someone else(that you know!) is sitting on it and watching it for you. Sorry if I am a little touchy this morning but I am sure that as dispicable as the thief was(and I can't stand people who steal either!) he had a mother and it is Mothers Day and she is missing her son.

I'm sure the tree will recover, Mike, they're pretty tough.

Just one of the many dangers of allowing your bike time to warm up. Or maybe he needed time to cool off from the last lap dance.

Hitler, Stalin, and the Ayatollah Khomeni had families too. But that doesn't mean the world isn't a better place without them...

There are three kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who can't.

Too bad thieves don't get what they deserve more often. And hopefully the owner learned a lesson. I'm sorry about the tree.

Interesting question for you. If your bike was stolen would you rather a) never see it again, or b) know that the person who stole it was killed and the bike is destroyed?

I'm still pondering, and I probably won't post my answer.

    Best Wishes,
    Bob

How about c) the person is found and turned over to me and my BB buddies for proper punishment and torture(including an MSF course that includes the dreaded Box that must be done to perfection!). At this point I am all for some vigilante justice(considering what I am going through with my son and the kids that have beat him and put him in the hospital) and I think I was just being overly sensitive on Mothers Day. Love to all!

I think I'd settle for an accident sufficient to prevent them from ever riding again...
