I know how you feel. For me, it stopped being worth it, so I'm sticking to track days from here on out. At least till the kiddo is older.
Here's a closer view of the kind of jacket I'm using. If I'm wearing a short-sleeved shirt under it, I start to get chilly at highway speeds at about 70 degrees (F). For me, 80 degrees is just...
I use a Vanson perforated leather jacket in the summers down here in TX. (I use it year-round, actually.)
I only take two visors on long trips, so it always goes in the tank bag.
No doubt, man. You should hear him point to the throttle, say "Noise!" and then make vroomvroom noises. I think he's sold already. I better start learning more about hare scrambles. :)
I dunno, he's having fun with the track conversion. :D

When I first started, I was definitely worried about image, and what other riders thought of me. Over the years, that has gone away and I don't care at all anymore.
I do care what my immediate...
I also side with the "strap it to the bike" folks. An elastic cargo net is cheap. I'm not sure where you're located, but a backpack really cuts down the amount of air moving through your jacket. ...
They hold crashed bits of fairing together, keep turn signals on, can replace (in a pinch) a bolt that has vibrated out. And they make pretty good coffee stirrers, too.
With older bikes, the maintenance factor is a lot more important. One that has been ridden regularly (and had all the rubber bits replaced along the way) will be in much better shape than the one...
Yeah, there's no way I'd give up riding altogether. I just have a whole lot more fun at trackdays than I do on the road. I'll miss taking long solo trips, but it's a tradeoff I'm okay with making...
Well, after 75k miles the fun doesn't outweigh the risk anymore, so it's time to take a break from street riding for a while. I'll revisit it when the kiddo is more grown up.
Looks like the poor...
Even though it has been mentioned twice already, take zip ties. :) They'll help when your license plate bracket randomly falls off, hangs by the plate light wiring, and starts bouncing off your...
It can't hurt to bleed the master and slave cylinders. When mine gets a little air in it, the clutch drag gets worse.
I've put almost 50k on my Falco, and it's still running strong. I'm not terribly kind to it these days, either. I never seem to find the time for routine maintenance.
Yeah, my FZ6 buzzed pretty good starting at 7k. I found that consciously relaxing my grip on the bars made it a lot more bearable.
I'd get the Aprilia, but I'm kinda biased. :)
You might also consider getting an RSVR (v-twin) if you don't have to have the bleeding-edge stuff. There are probably some decent deals on the...
Riding a demo '08 4.5 SXV was the most fun I've had on a motorcycle by far. I'd get into so much trouble with one of those...
Is that a pocketbike, I wonder? If so, that name is pure comedy gold.
Just wait till Aprilia brings out the V4 version of the Tuono. Choices, choices!
Late to the game, and I don't have a lot of great stuff, but I sure do like my Marmot Arroyo down bag. It's really light, and keeps me warm down into the 30's (Gigi's Mileage May Vary :)).
I'm honestly not sure you'll find that anywhere in the MSF publications. Could be wrong, though.
A more relevant question might be, "Who wants to ride two-up on the back of a sportbike?" Not many people (myself included) in my experience. :D
