The burden of getting a degree at an advanced age coupled with the stress of living on a student budget seems to have lifted. Thank you all for tolerating me all these years!

Did you get the 3.3 gallon tank? With 0.9 gallon fuel light(reserve), you spent 2.4 gallons for 99 miles. 41.25 mpg... not terrible. I get about 170 miles at about 4.2 gallons... so about the same actually...

How accurate are those estimates on what a bike should get? With only 99 miles on my brand new bike, the fuel light came on. They told me they had filled it up when it was still in the dealership..I just put 2 gallons in it, didn't top it off. I think the light comes on with a gallon left, so Im assuming I got about 33-45 mpg, it's supposed to get fifty or sixty, I believe. That may just be non stop highway cruising. I don't drive it everyday but wouldn't think a gallon or so would have evaporated while sitting. Dunno. No biggie, just curious. Thanks!

What's up, Capt...got the shopping wrapped up yet?

Well, it's something to think about ( getting the 1200 now) I felt like the two or so grand difference was bigger than just getting the upgrade kit later, and also, being new, wasn't sure if I'd want any extra power,etc out of the 1200. Figured it'd upset alot of you guys! I was originally bent on the Blast, but I think I can handle the 883, and would have something worth more and more upgradeable. Thanks for your tips
