  1. You can, but I doubt the results will be anything resembling pleasure. See, I once torpedoe'd a baffle from one of my 600 Shadows, and in order to equalize the back pressure I manually removed teh other one until the repalcement arrived.

While it sounded positively awesome as such, top speed was reduced to that of our stock 250 Rebel...rejetting can reclaim some of that but for the most part intake & exhaust mods simply offer gains on the upper end of the powerband, meaning beyond normal riding conditions. Many times you can actually lose power in the "normal" end of the powerband to get those gains.

Sorry to keep pestering but would you happen to know if i can run an 85 vt700 without the exhaust pipe/just the straight pipes without jetting the carb?

Thanks Man. I'll shoot him a message. Really love what he did with that bike.

hey, new to the forum here. I've had an 85 vt 700 for a couple season now and looking to turn it into a bobber. I saw the picture of that vt700 from vls you posted and was wondering if you knew any of the details. Like where he found that gauge and top clamp indicator light? Oh, and where the hell did he put the battery and rectifier?
  6. No, riding has taken a back seat in her book lately. I just have to be content with riding her bikes in the meantime LOL

Loud pipes do not make you safe. But if you are dudeman enough to think they do, I might be entertained by your (il)logical reasoning. Just like my motorcycle choices, I love my exhaust choices. I don't have to justify either of them. If I did, I made those choices for all the wrong reasons. Please do not defend my "exhaust rights" with moronicisms about Loud Pipes Saving Lives, I'd like to keep them thank you very much. Instead, just insist that your legislators define noise laws across the board rather than applying them to one small segment of the roadway population. The AMA won't help us in this regard, we have to help ourselves. The idiocy behind LPSL will only serve to promote more vehicle-selective draconian laws against us.

So I Went to the DMV Today...

by Shadow Shack on 11-16-2012 at 07:28 PM
...and finally got my M endorsement!

Just kidding, I've had that for a while now. Nay, I merely went there to donate to the state coffers once again via a registration renewal but this time I took the Rebel. I figured while I was there I'd take a putt around their riding test course, something I've been dying to try on the Rebel. I mean I've done it with every other bike I own or owned (which includes attempts on my long fork bikes LOL) and even with a few friends' bikes as I

Yet another applicant for the Dudeman Files

by Shadow Shack on 06-11-2012 at 05:07 PM
So I stopped at my FLIBS to order a sending unit, it seems my fan isn't kicking on and the motor is running hotter as such. In theory, a quick and simple chore, right?

WRONG.

Not when the person in front of you is a dudeman.

For twenty minutes I had to subject myself to listening to this utter moron who tried to convince both the parts counter guy and shop owner that you really can fit a square peg into a round hole. As it turned out, our Dudeman was in a particular

Another one for the dudeman files...

by Shadow Shack on 03-01-2011 at 10:15 PM
Stop me if you've heard this one before: A motorcycle enthusiast rides his bike to the bank one day...

No, wait --- this always works better in the first person narrative.

"Behold: it's 20/20 Dudeman!"

I rode my red dragger to the bank today, and a storefront security guard hanging around outside starts making small talk with me.

"Nice bike, man!" (there's half of the dudeman title from the start ) Before I can even
