I am a beginner rider that at my age wasn't ready to jump on a big bike. In fact I started a little over a year ago by purchasing a China made pit bike brand new for $300. It was a 110cc small sized bike that I cruised around with my son on his Honda CR50 on the property I live on in the Angeles National Forest in CA. It was fun but I wanted a "real" bike that I could trust to last so I bought a 2005 Yamaha TTR125 LE. This seemed more like a real bike and it was fun to trail ride but when I went riding with a friend I realized I had a kids bike so I went out and bought a 2004 TTR 225. I am 5'8" and weigh 150 so this bike is a nice size for me for now. I like the stability and ease of riding. It might still seem like a kids bike to some but not for the trail riding I do.

I've worked on lots of Suzuki's, was a Suzuki fanatic for about a decade. They made a heck of a nice 2-stroke.

PS if you want a lot of great info on the Strom, check out stromtrooper.com. I haven't been there in awhile because of life, but there are great forums there, too.
