Randy and I had a nice leisurely 150 mile ride to Lake Texoma today. The temps started out in the 60's and ended up in the 80's!! It was BEAUTIFUL!!

The view from the dam. This is the other side of the dam at the spillway which drains into the Red River.

Wind speeds were from 20-30 mph with gusts. Check out those waves....on a lake!

Enjoying the beautiful weather!

Randy enjoying the view of the lake. We went into the state park and had a picnic lunch.

Randy did a great job planning the route. We completely avoided the interstate and took backroads. AWESOME!! We were turning onto another road on the way home when out of no where came a little tiny dog (looked like a baby pom) and started after Randy. Randy never did see him. I was praying that the little dog wouldn't run under Randy's tires. Even with his little legs just pumping away as fast as he could, he did not catch him!! Thank goodness. Wonderful day for a ride!

We had a really good ride. I can't believe it was in the mid 80's. One highlight for me was riding 2-up with Mer so she could take some pictures as we rode across the dam. The pictures turned out great!

as usual...Great pics, Mer! Sounds like ya'll had a great weekend. I finally got to ride, also, and ended up just hitting some favorite roads on Saturday and ended up at Lake Somerville. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera, otherwise I would have gotten some nice pics. I'm planning on going back soon to do some more exploring, and definitely gonna bring the camera this time.

And on Sunday I met Feejer in Waco for some riding. After a couple of wrong turns we ended up hitting a nice road and I kept wondering to myself if it was the same road we were on last June. Either way, it was a great time, with over 500 miles for me for the weekend.

Man, that wind was crazy! I wore my mesh jacket but ended up wishing I had brought my regular textile one because the wind was blowing so hard. It was so strong I had to lean just to go straight on the road. Guess times like those it pays to have a nice, heavy cruiser! 8)

I'm glad you got ALOT of riding in El G!! WOW....you did do some riding this weekend! Your sure right about the wind though. We rounded a corner on the way home and the gust hit so hard that Randy and I both thought we were going to be blown off the road. It was eye opening to say the least! Looking forward to the ride next month in the Hill Country!!!

Wow...gorgeous! It really was windy this weekend, wasn't it? That's the only reason I'm glad I didn't ride this weekend. (I've been feeling guilty for keeping the R-Honda under wraps on such a great weekend) As wiped and lazy as I was on Saturday, as soon as I saw the little girl, scarecrow and tin man tumbling down my street, I lost the tiny amount of motivation I had to get off the couch.

Great shots. I can't wait to hit the road again! Hopefully, this coming weekend will be nice again. Rainy weekends are really starting to tick me off!

Hey Mer I was just reading your post. I Loved the pictures! Sounds like you had a great time.

The pictures brought back wonderful memories. I lived in Witchita Falls 1997-2002. My H was stationed at Sheppard AFB. Every year we would go to lake Texoma for a weekend in the summers. Sheppard AFB had a site for military members to rent cabins. H`s entire shop would go. We would grab all the boats, jets skis and pontoons we could round up head out for a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for posting, I was missing Texas. I am not missing the wind. LOL ;-)
