Hi All,
Just wanted to say Hi to all BBrs in Phoenix Area ( I think the word I am looking for is Lizards ?? ;) ) I moved to Tempe ( 202 & University or I-10 & Broadway ) couple of weeks ago from Chicago. It was a long ride , mostly uneventful (except when a semi almost ran me over on a 6% downhill grade on 87 from pyson ).
I must add here that Interstates, Uhaul, NM & AZ (75 speed limit), & Cheap Gas (2.30/gal is not much overall) Rock!!
So far, I am liking it here a lot! I guess I got out of Midwest just in time as they got buried in ice and snow past week.
I see a lot of good places to ride around here... let me know of your favorites or you need a riding buddy next time! Hope to ride with you all soon!

Hehehehe...
There have been a LOT of people nearly run down by trucks near Payson...
Here's a story (http://www.bikernet.com/garage/bnchopoff20003-1.asp) related by the famous Bandit, or Keith Beall
I didn't want to pull over and give him an open target so I pressed on the tank with my left hand and pushed harder on the throttle with my right. I raced past the signs indicating a dangerous decline ahead and warning truckers to check their brakes. The guy behind me had no notion of using his as he sped to catch me. Fortunately, I could outrun him, if I were riding a bike built for mountain riding.

The same semi had flown past me on an earlier downhill. He was on my radar since he showed up on my rear-view on next downhill. The stupid SUVs kept in parallel with him. The trailer I was towing was kind of top loaded so I couldn't risk speeding up and running the curves hot. He had no choice but to run me over. Luckily, the right shoulder was wide enough for me to move over to. I would punch the semi and SUVs' drivers if I were to see them somewhere. I am sure the judge would let me go since they all unwillingly conspired to kill me.

Awesome! Of course, you know, this means that your attendance in June at the Durango rally is now mandatory!
We'll definitely hafta hook up for a ride. Plus, you're in Tempe, so it's a little easier to meet up since no one has to cross Phoenix (which is an hour in itself). I highly recommend the In-N-Out Burgers out there...

+1 for Durango
Thanks for the tip on In-N-Out. I eat out breakfast, lunch, dinner & in between so always looking for new places to try. I am a vegetarion though so will see what else they have other than burgers.
I usually don't have any commitments on weekends so whenever you are up for a ride, let me know!
