Okay, here's a question ... When I leave work I always "log out" of here before I exit. I press the Log Out option, I get the messages saying I've logged out, all cookies cleared, and so on. I then turn off hte PC. Then, the next morning, I open this site and am already logged in. This is making me think I'm never logging out when I think I am.

So, does the Log Out option really work?

works fine with me. ive been doing some work on the cookies lately, its possible you have an old one. do a "clear cookies" from your browser, then try it...but like i said, works for me using IE and safari.

I can't log out either. Here's the message I get: An error occurred while attempting to log you out. Click here to log out. When I click to log out it still doesn't log me out.

Hmmm... I've on rare occasions gotten the error message that Mer mentioned, but then "click here to log out" does work for me. I've not had a problem with it... I don't bother logging out on my home computer but I do always log out on the computer at work... and without fail when I go back I have to log in again.

The other thing I can think of is that the very first time you logged in here did you get the window saying something like "Would you like Windows to remember the password for this site and log you in automatically when you visit this site?" And did you click yes?

I don't always remember to log out, but at work, or anyplace other than home I ALWAYS clear all cookies and empty the temporary internet files when I leave for lunch and at the end of the day.

I think it's just good security practices in general.

I NEVER log out. Is that bad? :)

Kinda OT:
On the whole deleting cookie/ temp folder thing: I've been told that these are good to do but it does not totally delete all the sites that you've been to. If your MIS Dept audits your computer, they can still look at all the sites you've been to. At least that's what they tell me (and have been able to do in the past). So those that surf at work are never TOTALLY safe......
