Well, they just started supplying their new GV650 cruisers to the Korean police force!

It must have been one heck of a deal they cut!

Special thanks to member Gee-Bee of the ACD Forums (http://www.pdacore.com/mcboard/?action=forum) for hunting down the pics!

Nice looking police bikes.

Not worried at all. They have a really bright future in my opinion.
One of the better looking police bikes too. Just a little small for U.S. law enforcement, except for in the cities maybe.

Physically small or in the CC department? If the latter I got data from a fellow in spain that ran his GV650 the quarter mile in 12.7 seconds, which is about what a Honda VTX 1800 does!

I really like those bikes. I just wish there was a dealer near me so I could check them out in person.

As it turns out, a co-worker is going on vacation in St. Augustine and there is Solano Cycle. I've given him strick orders to stop by and check it out for me...including photo's! LOL...

I've been lurking on your forum from time to time and have been reading and learning a great deal about them as well as the Kymco Venox. Nice work over there! :)

Hyosung is a huge company...I wouldn't worry about them going anywhere anytime soon...they started making bikes in the early 70's so they probably have it down by now...

They are nice looking bikes.

Good chances of this bike hanging in & becomming one of the bikes from Korea to possibly China. The more yrs they stay & the more up to date models, makes the bike more of an established brand all will trust.

Thanks for the compliment Chuck! :)

Actually keep an eye out in your area, as I hear Hyosung US is adding dealers all over the country pretty much on a daily basis!

A couple of more:

I'm personally too, not worried about the future of Hyosung... I wasn't worried in 2003 when I considered the GV250 on my shortlist... nor was I worried when I actually bought the GV250 in 2004... and nor will I worry when I get the GV650 later on this year in 2006!

It's just that there are still a few people out there who are, and who are also negative (and both!).

I was at a dealer for Honda and Suzuki looking for gear and was talking to a salesman about Hyosung bikes, to which he replied that it was "not a real bike!"... In the same way that Hyundai was not a real car! He shut the hell up when I rattled off the stats for the GV650 and how it could do the 1/4 mile in the same time as a VTX1800!

Oddly enough, I've been talking to my local dealer who sells Kymco's about possibly picking up some of the Hyosung line...but he'd need to rent a larger place for that (he has a small showroom). Not sure if he wants to make the investment just yet but he told me he's "keeping an eye on Hyosung". He really liked what he saw at the show in Indy.

Is the bike as small as it looks? As a 5' 3" person there are a lot of bikes I can't ride. This looks like one I would be comfortable on.

The bike has very similar dimensions to the Yamaha Warrior (same wheelbase, a tiny bit longer, less wide than the Warrior, but taller)... that said, it also has adjustable footrests to accomodate those who are shorter as well!

I've made a chart here (http://www.pdacore.com/mcboard/index.php?topic=209.0) comparing it with the V-Rod and the Warrior...

I like the 250 Gt, looks like a baby SV650. Don't know if it's sold in the US though.
