I'll be the first Savage, LOL...
"Special Ed" is my 2002 black Savage, and there's a Memphis Shades clear windshield, Suzuki saddle bags, luggage rack and some extra blinky-LED lights above the license plate. I will be putting my new Formotion clock on the handlebars, whenever I get to ride again, which I hope to be real soon..
I am the original owner since 8/9/02, and now "Special Ed" has 20,350 miles. 8)

I am the proud 3rd owner of a 97 Savage with only 2600+ miles on it, I contributed 1400 of them! I just got it in July of this year and right now it's in pieces on the garage floor. New exhaust, turn signals, mirrors and a paint job are in the works. Not sure of the paint color yet. I need to make a trip to the paint shop and pick one out. I already added a windshield and saddlebags. For my first ever motorcycle, it's been a great choice! Lightweight, easy to handle, with plenty of get up and go.
Whenever I learn how to post photos, I'll post before and after shots!

I'll chime in too on the best first bike a person can get. I have extra chrome, highway bars and bags on mine. Now to get that windshiled. :wink:

In August I purchased the pearl white S40 Boulevard which I totally love! Unfortunately, I was only able to put 250 miles on it before I had to place my baby in hibernation. Very much looking forward to spring!

Second owner of a 02 Savage. Windshield, saddlebags. Have engine guards with highwaypegs to put on and luggage rack. Now I just need the confidence in myself to get out there this spring/summer and ride. Lets hope

So do you have the stock Suzuki engine guard? I wasn't impressed with the engine guard that Suzuki sells. My friend has a Savage as well and it didn't look like it would protect much if the bike fell over. If you got a different brand, what was it? I'd love to have one!

So do you have the stock Suzuki engine guard? ....Hi Jenny, yes I do have th stock Suzuki engine guard. They're not that pretty, but most aren't, to my view. But, they do their job and shine up pretty well too.

Checking in! I've got a 1996 Savage (The Yellow Dart). It has about 9300 miles on it, about 6000 of those from me.
It could use a new home if anyone knows a Texas newbie looking for a ride. :)

dboogie2288 is craving for content on this great new site. Why don't we write a collaborative review on the Savage/S40? Who would be up for such a thing? I have a few ideas on the format of the content (including a brief profile of the authors at the end).
We could set the standard of which all other Bike reviews are written! We had better hurry... I think the Ninja group may be on to us.

Looks like a few reviews are posted already.
I was thinking of starting the review and passing it off to PerrydaSavage.
I'd like to include
-Recent Savage history and major changes over the years
-First impressions
-Riding experience local and highway
-Additions we have made and why
-Author profiles
This is just what I'll add, I'll let PerrydaSavage change and add as he sees fit
how long have you been on your Savage/S40 jennifrb?

I've had my Savage since July. If nothing else I can relate my first impressions of the bike and the additions I've made.

Cool HotFix ... if ya want you can start writin' the Review ... when you get it to a point where you'd like some input, PM me ... lookin' forward to collaborating with you on this. One category you might want to include at the end of the piece, is a "Wish List or Next Generation" ... while us Savages love our Thumpers, I'm sure there are things about the Bike we'd love to see Suzuki change, upgrade, etc.
Here's a Thread from suzukisavage.com that may contain some info about the history of the Savage;

and here's a good review written by a Canadian Savage owner;

I'm currently ridin' a 1998 Savage ls650 with 6489 miles on it. 4400 of them are mine. I love my thumper very much but I'm a little to big for it. It's still a great first bike. I'm going to hate to get rid of it when I upgrade.
