TX, 92 Kawsaki EX500, $1600

hey everyone. trying to get some money (damn college and my hobby of restoring old cars/bikes). i HATE doing this...it is such a cool bike.

its a 1992 Kawasaki ex500. i bought it in March of 2005. the previous owner liked modding bikes and it had K&N pod filters on it. they werent much help and the carb tuning was too much for me. they needed adjusting every once in a while, so i ordered a stock airbox from ebay, and a set of carbs from a barely used 2001 ninja 500r that hadnt been tampered with. once i put those two things on, it ran better than when i bought it. i also replaced the thermostat a few months back. the fan works on it, thats rare.

i also have an XL joe rocket ballistic series jacket. the previous owner gave it to me... but i was really sad that i couldnt wear it... i wear a medium. :( its in great condition. its included if you want the bike.

i also have a Medium HJC helmet. its lightly used, but never been bonked. it doesnt match my other bikes, so its included. i have a few other generic BUT DOT APPROVED black full face helmets, if you need an extra, i can throw it in. i have plenty... :) they are both Medium also i think.

you can see the K&N filters there. you can have them also, if you are into fine carb tuning so you can have a little more power or whatever, then go for it. but i think its just easier without them.

i also put a new clutch cable, clutch and brake levers... um... i've been riding it "naked" without the lower scoop. (the fairings are home made, not real fairings, they are just metal sheets painted, but they look cool - see the first pic above)

there you can see the front of it without the fairings. (i was working on it and its just easier to leave them off). but i have them and i can screw everything back on in 5 minutes.

the bike also has new plugs, new yellow plug wires, and NGK plug caps.

thinking... what else have i done to it...

oh, when i first bought it, the right handle bar was bent from a drop. i replaced the perch and its close to being completely straight. it may be the actual handlebar insert. its still a little noticeable but not like before.

as of now... the taillight fuse keeps burning out. something is shorting out but i havent had a chance to track it down. (final exams week) i'll do my best to try and fix that. the brake light works though, turn signals, hazards, horn. etc.

it has 28,185 miles as of now. (i still use it during the day - not at night due to the no taillight situation - so the miles are going up daily. lol)

if you need any other things answered let me know and i'll do my best to answer them. i just need money to fix my other bike, my car, and hold onto some to buy books next semester

so you get the bike, the K&N air filters, a helmet (or two), and a joe rocket jacket.

PRICE - $1600

i prefer you come pick it up (El Paso, TX). i dont know about shipping a bike :-\
