I'll be adding some new styles today, feel free to select them if you like them. I'll be fine tuning them for a few days with proper graphics and whatnot, so bear with me. Christmas style is pretty much 100% right now, enjoy it.
There is a drop down box in the lower left hand corner that you can switch the styles.

Wow. I like the Xmas one. Black and gold are not my fav.
What is the current mood thing?

Love the Christmas one! How festive my screen looks now!
I actually like the black and gold one over the Christmas one.
Looking forward to having more styles to choose form in the future. (hint hint)

I'm diggin' the new styles! Very good job. I do have a question though...
How come the text boxes seem to shrink (narrow) when you use certain settings? Is this something that's just inherent in changing (graphics) things? it's no big deal at all, but I was just curious.

depends on the style...most arent TOO bad that you'll notice, but the xmas theme is only able to be as wide as the background (which is kind of narrow) or it will look all stupid and off....
Which one are you talking about specifically?
Wow...I LOVE the Christmas setting!!! Great job!!

If you switch between "power blue" and the "Christmas" theme you'll see what I mean. It's really not a big deal and I don't want you to think I'm not being appreciative. :-D

I want to know if there is an easier way to get to the smilie pages, and where I can find some different ones to use.
I NEED a teddy bear one!!!
Had to go with Power Blue

+1 to shutterbug...I tried the Christmas one but...whoa...it was hurting my eyes.
PS I'm in Power blue and the user pages dont show up. If I switch back to the default gray, they work.

Minor point - links embeded in posts don't show up too well in the Christmas style.

Good catch, I'll look into it.

Great job with this forum btw. VBulletin is a heavily featured beast and you have a nice setup going here.
Keep up with the patch releases though for sure. VBulletin should have a mailing list for announcements if/when they issue any new bugfixes or security patches.
If you know about this already, I apologize, these php forums are a bit of work to keep up, just spreading the word.

Reminder:
When you, me, or anyone spots something that isn't working right, remember to use "support" to send in a "ticket." Although Derick is excellent at staying on top of things... that'll ensure it doesn't get missed or forgotten.
Tom
I got a surprise Christmas gift this morning. I logged on and forgot I had changed the scenery and up popped the Christmas theme.
Love it, Thanks!

I am happy with the gray background, it is very easy on the eyes. I am more in to function. Speaking of function, an upgrade so that we can edit or delete our posts like at the old site would be nice. Any chance of that happening?

Delete posts, no. The capability is obviously there, but people often avoid consequences by editing or deleting something that they may have regretted saying that would get them in trouble without our simple guidelines.
Editing posts, 3 hours is plenty I feel to change spelling mistakes and so on.

Would that all edits were harmless! But Cindy, I know you've seen it before... x posts something, y responds, x goes back and edits or deletes, and to all that hadn't seen it, y is the one that looks like the ass.
Bottom line for all: Think twice, post once.

I was thinking the same thing. Ah, in many ways our new place on the net is much better. I hope it stays that way.

In addition, that's why we have moderators. We have them to maintain order within the forums. They have the knowledge, the power, and experience to remove any posts they feel arent within guidelines. They also know what I expect and will tolerate here, and if something is to be deleted it will be done in whole, so as to avoid issues like tom mentioned.

If there wasn't order here I would agree, but it was nice to be able to delete a double post or edit a title and have some control over our own posts. It's a shame the majority lose the ability to be able to do that because of the possibility of what someone else might do.

No other boards that I frequent allow members to have full control of their postings.

I don't think anyone said they did. I was just stating what I liked about the old site and that it is too bad that we can't do that here. That is okay isn't it? If not, you can delete it. ;)

...anyhow, back on topic. Userpages are still a work in progress....we can thank that lovely databse error earlier today for the uninstall procedure of that particular add on...
I'm trying to get it properly set, but its taking time....to those who had entries, sorry, they were lost. I had to delete the database tables so that VB wouldnt freak out...but let me get it 100% first, and you can re-do them..

I happen to agree with Cindy on the ability to delete the posts. I think it would be such a rarity. But it is good to know we do have three hours to entirely change a post we did make. I guess think of it as a boon to adding to your total posts.
...What is the current mood thing?
I don't believe this was answered yet. I know I changed it one time. I think it was a dropdown up top right, but no longer.
I searched out "current mood" and found this thread only.
How / Where does one change it?
Thank you,
Gerry
