But if you absolutely, positively, have to be seen, this has got to be the 'brightest' way to do it. Let a cager try to say "But officer! I didn't see him/her!".

Yes, officer, I saw him....but he looked so much like one of those popsicle things from the ice cream truck that I got lost in a daydream of my childhood and hit him anyway....sorry.

But the good thing is that this VROD probably gets ridden so infrequently that the 800$ valve adjustments are few and far between!

Hey now...over-the-top drag queens notwithstanding, no self-respecting biker queen I know would be caught dead on anything like that!

No worries, Rhonda, I was thinking solely of over-the-top drag queens only!

Heeheehee...OTOH, they'd be on the back. I will say that one of the prettiest U-Turns I've seen was executed on a residential street by a member of the HAMS riding a fully dressed Road Star during the staging for the Pride Parade. 8-)

Note: Only a rider would use the term "pretty U-Turn."

am I the only one who's far more interested in looking at the Honda TransAlp in the background?

The rear shocks look outta place. First thing you've got to do is bling them out so it doesn't look so plain.

I kinda like it, looks better than the all aluminum set-up.

But I'd be perfectly content with the XL-600V next to it. Dual Sport VLX motor...yep I'd be happy!

Igor is out shopping for gold chains even as we speak :-)

I came across a group of Transalp riders up in north GA earlier this year. Those guys were really dedicated to their bikes. Many had owned them for a lot of years and others had searched long & hard for them.

You don't want to do everything at once, what it if looks silly? But the rear shocks, fork tubes, handlebar, front fender, they're next. And what is that under the rear cylinder? Is that a sighglass? Maybe a gold tint for that!

Don't forget the big circular gold medallion with the letters "BB" in the center made out of "bling bling" diamonds. Now that would be tight!

And if you're going with some more bling...might as well add some spinner rims too. lol!

Edit: Just had thought...add some hydraulics and you'd really be rockin'...literally. lol!

<sniff, sniff> Do I smell sarcasm? ;)

Seriously...you're right. This is the first time I've ever seen an attempt to customize a V-Rod and make it stand out. I think, though, there are plenty of ways to make a bike unique without being, well, gaudy. I would love to see a nice custom paint job on a V-Rod that doesn't immediately make me think of the Good Times vans so prominent in the 70s. Of course, we don't see the owner in the picture. The bike could very well reflect the personality of the owner.

But if nothing else, you gotta give it to this guy/gal. They wanted attention...they got it!!! Whether good or bad...I think they got just what they wanted. In fact...they've got a whole thread devoted to them on a site filled with the coolest riders of all times.

Karl_L

The owner wears a full face helmet and rides it to places that a Transalp rider would go to, he can't be too bad.

My main point in posting this aside from sharing an eye catching picture was the irony of the fact that I would rather see mud on my bike than chrome (or gold.) This rider, with this bike at least, has different tastes. Who knows what else he has in the stable.
