Hello fellow scooterists,

After not being around for a few months, and posting my last message as completing the MSF class, I thought it rude to not at least post why no posting was done by me. To make a long story short, I completed my MSF class on June 19, endorsed my driver's license on the 20th (My 62nd birthday) and then proceeded to get runover by a doper youngster in an S-10 pickup truck. He made a left hand turn into me and it was like slow motion as I decelerated to about 40mph while laying my wing down. Skinned both knees and one elbow, not too bad, but scarred my helmet and boots, shredded my gloves and tore my jacket. Glad to be wearing all the right gear. Did a number on the faring and after all reports made, I rode my scoot home, which was 50 miles from the site. $2800 worth of new faring and the scoot is as good as new. Just wanted to let everyone know to dress properly and watch out for everyone!! Redwing PS--I have put on about 2000 miles since the incident.

Glad your back and in good condition. Sorry that it had to happen in the first place but ATGATT and gear can be replaced!

redwing, that's just not the type of 'bang' you're supposed to celebrate a birthday with!

I'm real happy to hear you weren't hurt any worse- one scary incident, though. Gear is an amazing thing- it's almost unbelievable some of the 'walk away' stories heard when the rider is wearing it!

That Silverwing held up pretty darn well, too- Happy the insurance paid off and it's good as new!

2000 miles since the accident? You're a brave soul and I hope you're having an absolute blast on that S'wing!

Nice to hear from you!
