AZridered is here in town to coach a BRC today and tomorrow, so what is there to do but drag him out dirtin' last night?

I pondered whether or not to take the camera with us, to which Cam responded, "If you don't take the camera, you won't be able to get a picture of azridered when he falls!" I like how that boy thinks.

And as it turns out, Cam was the one who fell. Just plopped right over when he dropped into a sandy area. Take that, punk. azridered was way nicer about it than I was. When I called out Cam, azridered said, "Well, it told me where NOT to go". (azridered was right behind Cam.)

Mom fail...couldn't get picture taken before he uprighted the CRF70. :saaad: :saaad:

Group shot by the highway sign. I know..scenic, huh?

We had monsoons threatening the area..which made for a cool sunset. Hardly any rain by us on the southeast. Enough to turn the wipers on on the way home exactly 3 times...and that was it. :saaad:

Special thanks, as always, to our friend Bob for loaning his TTR230 to azridered for our 16.5 mile trek. We have the best friends ever. (Bob is not shown in the above pic because he went riding without his grandson, who had a soccer game. He didn't want the evidence to be posted (on facebook) for his grandson to see. )

I second this question...

LOL You must be referring to wheelie pics of azridered since I still don't know how to do one. :loser:

And...azridered was so quick, the wheelie pics came out blurry. Not worth posting. :)

Right handgrip. Twist toward you. Aggresively.

Right handgrip. Twist toward you. Aggresively.

Yesterday I took a photo and the group was far ahead of me. I was excited to let the CRF run like it wants to so...I twisted. I could feel the back tire spitting things out behind it and we were flying.

But still no front tire lift. :saaad:

I watch my neighbor do it effortlessly and it drives me crazy.

Then I think to myself...I'll poke an eye out anyway so it's probably for the best.

I was happy that there were no crashie pics.

First time off-road in about six or seven years.
There was a lot of Ahhh! Oooooo, Oh! Ack!! Oh, OK..... Uh, Oh. What?????? As soon as a technique would start to come back to me, the terrain would change.
The Really Exciting Moment came when I realized, too late, that the trail made a quick right........and that while standing, I could not operate the rear brake.....

It was actually kinda fun watching you "remember"/get your dirtin' legs back again. Really glad it worked out we could go. And I'm really glad you didn't crashie. With the kids camps in their first week, I didn't have time to fill in for your BRC the next day.
I thought about that afterwards.

wait... shouldn't that be practiced? really... don't dirt riders shift and brake while standing?

Playing in some dirt is a great way to end the day!

It was a borrowed bike. Sitting down, the rear brake was OK. I'd forgotten that the reach would be different when standing. And I have somewhat limited movement at my right ankle. Another one of those things to remember for next time.
