FYI -Burgman Recall Notice

Saw this in a newsgroup today:


Recall notice was mailed to owners. It covers all 2003 and some 2004 suzuki burgman 400 and 650 model scooters

The cause is a potentially faulty ignition switch. if not fully engaged in the "on" position, contacts inside the switch might heat up and/or short.

I saw that, but so far, haven't gotten any notice... I think I'll give my dealer a call and ask "whazzup?" Because the ignition key is also used to release the trunk latch, (which I don't think is a good plan - a separate key-latch makes more sense to me...) I can see how the key might be only "partly" turned at times. So far (knock on wood), Sylvester's been ok...

Looks like Syl's got to go in and have his ignition replaced... Dang! Had two bikes, dropped one, had one bike, now told shouldn't ride until recall repair is made... http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sad/106.gif
