So what's up? I figured there would be a mile long thread on this by now. So are yall racing or what? I'm trying to keep my weekend open so that I can hang out at the track, but if nobody's running, I guess i'll find something else to do

I'm planning on racing Saturday & Sunday. I haven't done a Nashville round without Dewayne & Catt so I'm not sure what to expect.

Your room is ready, if you wanna hang out here. I might be able to be convinced to come hang out at the track part of the weekend. My parents will be in town for my brothers birthday either Saturday or Sunday, they lack advanced planning skills, so still not sure which day.
George will be racing, he won't make Friday due to work, but should be there Saturday and Sunday.

I've been planning on coming. I got into some poison ivy a few days ago though. I don't have enough movement in my arms right now to ride the bike. I should be on the tail edge of it. If it clears up in the next couple days we'll be there.

I'll probably try to get out there at least one day and see everybody. James, if yall need a place to crash, just let us know. And if anyone needs an extra set of hands in the pits, you know where to find me.

Just smear some oatmeal inside your leathers & get out there. :)

I think I'll take you up on that if my odd hours won't put you out too much. I'm not riding Friday but I should get to the track in the afternoon so I can get to your place not too late.

Trying to get out of some leathers stuffed with oatmeal paste would be an interesting experience. Most of the oil is dried up now. Just waiting for the swelling and water blisters to go away.

Odd hours are not a problem. I'll change the sheets and get all the stuffed animals out of the bed... It was dolly nap time last time Evie was here.

That or his SV may be missing some carbs. The silver lining is I got the carb removal/installation down to a science at this point. Putting a fuel pump on a carbed bike is just pure genius.

Either way there's no threat of me racing!

Cool. Looks like I'm for sure coming out Sunday to watch everyone. Saturday is up in the air a little. What hospital yall working on? I ask because we're working on one that opens in a couple of weeks as well.

You did good James, I am sure the crew chief of Team Miller is very happy with the accomplishments.

09-28-2010, 08:54 AM
Yeah, it wasn't a pretty pass and my suspension doesn't handle those rumble strips very well. James I hope I didn't cut you off when I passed you.
I never did see Dewayne's unscheduled pit stop, he must have been moving again by the time I came around. He had one lap about a minute longer than the rest, but only one minute. Not too bad for an unscheduled stop.

I'm very happy with the weekend overall. The crew chief was too. I'm just a little too timid on that bike right now to really get after it. Maybe I need to eat some jalapenos for breakfast next time.
I'm actually working on a couple things over the next few weeks that, I hope, will help. The front of the SV still dives hard under braking. Some stiffer springs are recommended (by traxxion anyway) and there's a slight chance of getting another day or so in at Tally (possibly on a new-to-me bike).

Wasn't close enough for me to make note of it. Wishmeijer (probably butchered that spelling) rubbing my right arm going to turn 2 was memorable.

09-28-2010, 12:35 PM
Yup. Gotta figure out how to get it from ATL to Indy. Thinking about doing the XAct track day at TGPR in a couple weeks and bringing it back from there. Why not fill in the 1 weekend in 3 months I had free?

We will be there. I may take you up on that. If I don't go to the TGPR track day, I think there's one here at Putnam that same weekend I could go to. Being an hour from home would be nice - compared to that 8 hr. drive again.
The collective "we" have enough bikes to field two sippy cup endurance bikes next year too (with A and B bikes).
Karl_L
09-28-2010, 02:07 PM
Are you thinking of the EB trackday on 10/16-17?
Prof._HH
09-28-2010, 02:22 PM
There's a NESBA day up here at Putnam and the X-Act/EB day at TGPR the same weekend. I've been in touch with the guy at X-Act about getting some quality time with the CRs. I just sent some questions to NESBA about the Putnam day.
NESBA is more spendy but I'd save the hotel and travel costs.
I really think some time with a rider following me and making specific suggestions would help. I know he's going to say the same thing you, LDS and Mech. have been saying but sometimes the messenger makes a difference.
All other things being the same, I'd rather go to Putnam. We'll see what info I get from NESBA.

Way cool James. I would like to ride Putnam some time later this year if possible, cant make that weekend tho. Good luck finding a 17" front, I've seen a few on ebay but rears are everywhere. The one front on ebay was 175 w/ out rotors. The 17's on the old gen should be the ticket tho, then all we need is butt load of talent. That and some more track time. The endurance racing is the cheapest way to lots of track time. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help get that bike up to you. With the last few months of Jan traveling down here almost every weekend, I'm prolly going to heading to Indy a lot in the near future.
