Given the level of competition in WERA, I think it should be "easier said than done", not "easy". :D

*scouring craigs list for 2008+ CBRs.
One 35k check coming right up - yeah right. My goal this year is to finish a race 1 lap down to the experts (read 714). Attempt 1 coming up in April.

Shouldn't that read "less than a lap down?"

Depends, are we dreaming about my long illustrious racing career or are we talking about what I can realistically expect to happen?
Last year, at Nashville, I got nipped for the 2nd time by the race leader just before the finish line. This time, I think it's realistic to be farther ahead of him/her than that but I don't really expect to be on the lead lap. It could happen though. I'll buy the 1st round if it does.
Is there going to be a track day Friday at Nashville this year?
How much contingency is Honda posting for AMA/DMG American Superbike?
Almost seems like they are giving a $35K middle finger to DMG?

I race a Suzi SV650. No Honda here. The prize money is for the (new to WERA) superbike national series. That's 1000 CCs racing all over the country. It looks like most of the tracks are in the Eastern 1/3 of America though. There are probably quite a few people with the funding to do it - I'm not one of them though.

Well, I do sometimes race a Honda, but it does not qualify for the contingency money. It's' not a 1000, and at 35 years old, it misses the model year deadline as well.
