Group: I'm new to motorcycles, and am looking for some general information about the brand names of engine guards. Is there any brand that are better than the others? Is there a brand to stay away from (inferior quality)? I don't want to buy cheap guards, but yet I don't want to buy a Rolls Royce if a Chevrolet will do the job!
Thank you for any input.

Welcome Tx Iron Pony!! You have a GREAT bike!! My first bike was a 2002 Honda ACE. I did not have engine guards on mine so I can't help you there. Check out cruiser customizing for reviews of others with the ACE and what has worked for them. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/index.cfm?sblid=home

If you haven't already also check out Strickly ACE. http://forums.delphiforums.com/strictlyace750/messages/?msg=15467.1 Lot's of great info there too!

Have fun!!

...that I'm actually selling (picked up a used FLHPI instead) but I'd put Cobra engine guards and highway pegs on it.

I picked up the guards from cruisercustomizing.com and I'd highly recommend them. Only downside is that they're a little tough to put on (you have to loosen the exhaust) but once they're on - they look great.

Good luck - feel free to email me if you'd like more info (of if anyone in NJ is interested in the bike - I listed it on craigslist.com).
