Sadly, he is no longer with us.

The world lost a very funny and talented man Dec. 23, 2000.

Yes, He was a classic. He put out a "Best of" tape a couple years before his death. I remember the TV commercials.

That was a good one. I always thought he was a hoot and it brings back lots of memories.

When we were living in Germany my parents bought a Danish teakwook dining set made by the Borge family. Though it was made in the 50's it is still very comtemporary by todays standards.

And it's hard to find the old stuff... so much of the stuff I remember has been lost.

Ah well... some other good funny stuff still is extant.

Here's one from Tim Conway on the Carol Burnett Show. It's an out-take you may have seen before. He was known for ad-libbing and trying to get the rest of the cast to lose it. In this one he keeps going on every time the rest of them try to finish the scene: Elephants! Borge was (heck, still is) just flat out hilarious. It's the type of thing about anyone can find funny, probably owing to the fact that opera is viewed by most people as such a formal thing.

Oh, and The Carol Burnett Show is a gold mine. I hadn't seen that elephant bit, though, and I had to stop halfway through for a bit because I was laughing so hard.
