It's fine periodically but sometimes I find it lags really bad, even last night it was so long in loading that all new posts marked themselves as being read... I had to search for posts I hadn't read.
Hope the host fixes whatever it is that causes this, frustrating to have to search the dates and times of posts I hadn't read yet.

I do too, but the truth of the matter is, we ARE on a shared server. Beginnerbikers.org does not advertise and we generate no revenue past what our generous members donate. We get what we pay for. If I were to change this place into a cash cow - I'm sure it would generate revenue, and we could have a nice dedicated server, but with that comes ads, banners, etc. A lot of stuff I don't particularly want to do. So, for now, we are best served on our economical shared server. That is unless Chuck gives us that $9,999 donation.

It's with great sadness that I report I did NOT win the lottery last week however; the new amount for the drawing Wednesday is $25,000,000. I'm going to give it another shot dboogie!

What the heck??
Although pages can look really weird at stages if the download locks up without finishing.
That's the only thing I can think of.

nope Tom I get pages of weird stuff, avatars mixed up with the signatures, wrong avatars on members posts, including mine. I'll do a refresh and they will still be mixed up. I'll even close the link and reopen again to the same results. Really strange, I'm on so many other vBulletin boards and this is the first I've seen this weirdness happening. And now a double post because it didn't look like it was posting. oops... clicked twice, I swear I only clicked twice and now have pages of duplicate posts

That is weird!
I've never seen that from here, from work, or even from my mother-in-law's mac on dial-up.
Which makes me very afraid for you that it may be on your end.
If I ever see it I'll let you know here.
How many others have seen this?

if it is on my end why is this the only forum I see this stuff on? Like I mentioned I'm on many many forums all day long, on phpBB, vBulletin, etc, and now the board is really lagging again. Didn't we just change hosts? oh, btw I only use firefox browser, maybe others not using this see differently? I have IE disabled completely on my system only use the update feature to automatically download but I install manually.

FWIW, I use IE and haven't seen any of the weirdness. I've had the site time out several times lately because it's running so darn slow...but no jumbled page displays.
No jumbled pages for me either. Slow like the the others said...but no wierdness going on here.

i have weirdness.
ok, let me amend that . . i HAD weirdness.
i could see that others have posted to a thread . . but when i opened that thread, the last post i could actually view and read was MY last post . . . and i KNOW there had been a complete page after my last post . . . .
so that was going on till just now . . when i opened BBO in another window and checked . . .and suddenly the posts are there . . .
curiouser and curiouser . . .;)

We changed servers within the same host.
The page dysfunction is basically the CSS not downloading completely, an alternative to the IE timeout for other browsers that read the CSS before it completely loads. IE does not do that, while firefox does.
We've got what we got...until I get 3 grand for a dedicated mac + hosting, we'll just have to suffer through the slow patches.
