All-
Please keep in mind all forum users with your avatar and your sig images. Not everyone has broadband  so we need to make sure that their visit here is just as enjoyable. Please keep your sig images to a size NO MORE than 350x100 and less than 20k in file size. As for avatars, the forum max is 96x96, and everyone who has uploaded one seems to be doing fine, however for those who link to an offsite avatar, please keep in mind that I request (I'm not going to go around policing avatars) a max size of 100x100 and a file size of about 15k. If you could keep those other dialup users in mind, I would much appreciate it. Thanks!

It'd also be nice if folks kept their in-message photos to 600 pixels wide or less, so that we don't get the horizontal-scrolling issue....

Just a thought.

isnt it simply assumed that if it causes horizontal scrolling its too big?

Okay question...new format and I can't find my profile info to restore my avatar. Not sure why it disappeared, it was 95x95 and about 6kb

user cp>edit avatar

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
question here. i think both numbers should be a hard limit. there is nothing more annoying that having big avatars... atleast have the max size be a hard limit.... you could slip a pretty huge image in and still be under 19.5kb. also whats the call on animated images... personally, i CANT STAND them... very annoying to either have to push esc or try to deal with it when trying to read....

edit - also, any reason sig images are dissabled or is that an oversight?

Okay I got the avatar part figured out, didn't realize there was a 80x80 limit (original post here said 96x96 so that threw me off.

Now, part 2---why isn't my sig pic loading? It's 294x29/11K

yea, i think the av limit changed with the vb update. as of right now images in sigs are disabled, not sure why. i imed dboogie but it seems he isnt there.

upon rereading the avvy rules i guess it means it has to be under both limits, so half my previous post is irrelevant

if you look at the bottom left of the page you will see what options are enabled and disabled. in the sig edit page [img] is off.

Avatars are fixed, I just rounded it up to 100x100...just a small setting change that I thought I had done, but apparently missed. Oh well, I did the upgrade at 3 in the morning, something was bound to be overlooked.. :)
